Twisted Thanksgiving Card

The Request

This year my (adult) son asked me to design a humorous greeting card idea he came up with to celebrate Thanksgiving here in the USA. Pretty much everyone in the States eats turkey for Thanksgiving, so he wanted a cartoon of a turkey and an oven doing battle, with the turkey dressed as a knight, and the oven made to look like a dragon. Then on the inside of the card, the turkey, now fully cooked, resting atop it’s own shield as a serving platter, with the sword stuck in the ground beside it.

The Results

This one was quite the challenge. AI does great with things that are often requested of it. But if you want something surreal that does not exist in real life, it gets very confused! There were quite a few horrifying mutations created, that I had to then frankenstein the pieces together to get a decent mockup, LOL. In the end, it turned out great and my son loved it.

Other Versions

We printed these images out on 8.5×14 paper (legal size) and folded them in half. For anyone else who would like to print similar cards, here are the properly sized files for that. The first image is the front and back of the card once folded. Print that, then flip the page and print the second image on the other side to create the inside of the card.

Note: The direction you need to flip may vary with your printer model, so do a test page in grayscale, draft mode to avoid wasting ink.
