Diploma Recreation
The Request
For this project, the requester had lost the display copy of his diploma, and had only the photo he took when he first graduated. He wanted to frame and display it, and asked if I could recreate it realistically to be reprinted
The Results
I’ll be honest, my first thought was “Is this legal? So I did a little research, and what I found was that since a diploma like this is only for display, and does not serve as official documentation, it is fine to make copies of it.
The most efficient way to do this project was as a vector image, which allowed me to recreate the heraldry logo and university seal as crisp and clear images, as well as trace out the signatures. Then all I had to do was find matching fonts for the text portions of the document, and line them up accordingly. After completion, the requester did have me edit the size of one of the fonts. but other than that it is a near exact copy of the original.
