The Request

Just an adorable photo I decided to paint. I am currently working on perfecting the techniques for converting photos into two painting styles; watercolor and oil paintings. I’ve got my preferred style, and I am getting better at achieving consistent results for all portraits. I hope to start offering them as a special order soon.

The Results

For this image, I didn’t want just a plain, flat, portrait background, but I did not want the background it was currently on, so I generated a new one. I chose a rich-toned wood flooring with a deep golden-orange wall color that matched. These really complemented the brighter yellow colors in the bow and the cat’s eyes.
