Trans Name Change
The Request
Lower case letter b, decayed and broken with the parts that make a lower case r, shiny pink and glittery.
Can pay $20 to the best submission (cashapp or w/e). Im a trans woman and changed the letter b in my name to an r. I want something that I can use to visualize for people that the letter r was always inside the b. Like encased in a grey dull husk thats melting or breaking apart. Something that would scale well would be great, but please feel free to be creative. Thanks
The Results
I found this request on the GenerateForMe subreddit and was intrigued by the challenge, as well as inspired by the story behind it.
AI was not really able to understand the concept of the “R” within the “B”, but it did manage to get the general visual concept I was going for. I wanted a dull gray granite or concrete letter to represent how I imagine the young woman felt living her life in the wrong body. I wanted the granite to be crumbling, revealing pink, glittery crystal beneath like the hidden treasure within a geode to represent the beauty revealed when she finally realized her true self. Eventually I was able to get some (mangled) images that had the textures I was looking for, even if the execution was a bit off (see example thumbnail below). I was able to piece them all together in photoshop to form a single image that realized the vision I had in my head.
Follow-Up Commission
She liked the concept, and hired me to do a second piece featuring her entire name, and requested that it be “flattened” into an image that was a bit less 3D, and from a head-on perspective with no angle. She then asked that I remove parts of the “b”, leaving just enough to still recognize it as a “b”, but to show that it was slowly transitioning into the “r” that was always there, hidden beneath the surface.
